About Susan

Creative Leader. Artist. Curious Human.
A Little More about Me ...

For more than 20 years, I’ve built my career around understanding people, solving complex problems, and turning ideas into experiences that make a difference. As a product design and research leader, I’ve shaped strategy, built and mentored creative teams, and partnered across product, engineering, and business to turn customer needs into meaningful outcomes.

I’m a player/coach at heart. I’m happiest when I can move between the big picture and the work itself—creating clarity around a strategy one moment, brainstorming alongside a team the next. I believe great work comes from environments built on trust, curiosity, and open collaboration, where people feel comfortable asking questions, experimenting, and challenging what’s possible.

Creativity Beyond the Product

That curiosity doesn’t stop when the workday ends.

Photography has taught me to slow down and notice—the way light moves across water, a butterfly that unexpectedly appears in the garden, or a small moment on a trail that would be easy to walk past. What began as a love of capturing those moments has evolved into another creative practice: transforming some of my original photography into expressive works of art.

Interestingly, I approach art much the same way I approach design. I start by observing. I explore possibilities. I experiment. And I keep working until something feels meaningful.

Sometimes the result is a better product experience. Sometimes it’s a painting inspired by a photograph. Different canvas, same curiosity.

A Little More About Me

Originally from the snowy shores of Erie, Pennsylvania, I now call the Atlanta area home. When I’m not working or creating, I’m usually outside—gardening, hiking, kayaking, or wandering somewhere with a camera in hand. I also love sewing and making things, and I’ve been known to get a little too competitive over a board game.

I’m also a proud first-generation college graduate, an experience that helped shape the resilience, curiosity, and willingness to forge my own path that I bring to both my professional and creative life.
