Practice Choice is a web-based EHR and practice management solution that integrates patient scheduling, charting, e-prescribing, billing, and reporting to improve workflows and patient care coordination. As the sole lead UX designer, I drove research and design efforts across six agile teams, maintaining a refined UX roadmap. I conducted usability studies, achieved Meaningful Use certification, and set qualitative UX benchmarks that led to actionable improvements in the customer experience.

Building Empathy

Building empathy with personas was essential for understanding users' diverse needs and pain points, guiding the product teams in developing user-centric solutions.

Workflow Improvements

Usability efforts and advisory group workshops revealed inefficiencies in the coded logic, with procedures being assigned to diagnoses. Users also wanted access to past and current encounters, but the layout made this workflow inefficient. To address this, we displayed procedures and diagnoses side-by-side for easy linking and added collapsible sections to optimize screen space.
